Calling all photographers based in Rockwall County! Rockwall, Royse City, Rowlett, Heath, Fate. and McClendon-Chisholm are all welcome to participate and share in the fun. We look forward to seeing your beautiful work.

Submissions will be open from 11/10/2025 – 12/31/2025. The RCHF Board will vote on winners from each category from both competitions. The public will have one week to vote on the Grand Prize winners for each competition, 01/10/2026 – 01/16/2026, on RCHF’s Facebook page. Make sure you are following us to keep track and vote for your favorite!

Winners will be announced via Social Media January 17, 2026.

Entries will be accepted via email, website submission, or submission via social media. Please include as much information with each submission as you are able. If a person is pictured please provide identification. All photos must have at least the year they were taken to be eligible.

RCHF reserves the right to reject entries that do not meet our guidelines.

There are TWO different competitions with THREE categories. You may make as many entries in either as you would like. They are:

Rules for the Historical Photo Competition

• Must be relative to Rockwall County – all photos submitted must be of a person from Rockwall County, a building that still or used to exist, or an event that took place in Rockwall County. 
• Must be at least 75 years old  – only photos taken before 12/31/1950 will be accepted.
• No inappropriate photos – must be able to be viewed by the public of any age. No images of violence or nudity will be accepted.
• Free use by the museum – you agree by submitting the photo that it may be used by the museum for display purposes, in marketing, and educational materials.
• Winner will be announced via social media January 17th, 2026

Rules for the Current Photo Competition

• Photos must have been taken within the last 2 years – photos from 11/10/2023 – 12/231/2025 will be accepted.
• Must have been taken on museum grounds – this includes the Manson and Bailey Houses, both lawns, the Rockwall, the field, the gazebo, and the tenant cabin.
• Photographer must be based in Rockwall County – this includes the cities of: Rockwall, Heath, Royse City, Fate, and McClendon-Chisholm.
• No inappropriate photos – must be able to be viewed by the public of any age. No images of violence or nudity will be accepted.
• Free use by the museum – you agree by submitting the photo that it may be used by the museum for display purposes, in marketing for the museum, and educational materials created by the museum.
• Winner will be announced via social media January 17th, 2026
